Valentine Drinks

It's not a Valentine celebration without at least one good drink, even if it's just some yummy punch with sherbet floating on top. Liquor.com has 11 drink suggestions that fit the bill, ranging from the classic and romantic to the decadently delicious!

The ginger gin fizz is definitely something I'd love to try. It sounds very '20s and that pop of ginger sounds fresh and tasty. I'd also love a Milk and Honey, but I think I'd prefer mine hot.

Bolivia Home To Glass Frogs Once Again

If you've never seen a rare glass frog before, you're in for a treat. They haven't been seen in 18 years in Bolivia but the species seems to have returned, and now their adorable transparent bellies can be seen in these pictures, too.

Just look at those little feet! In some of these frogs, their skin is so transluscent that you can even see their tiny hearts beating. They're so cute I wish I could have one with me on my desk all day.

Strange And Interesting Animals Of The Week

Who could use some stories about interesting, strange and especially sweet animals this week? I know I always can!

This story about a man who plays piano to comfort blind elephants will touch your heart. The elephants are largely injured due to their old working conditions and retire to the sanctuary where he shares his classical music with them.

Farmer Tricks Tourists With Tartan Sheep

We raise chickens (my mom says that makes me a chicken tender!) and I have met people who actually think that chickens only lay white eggs, and that our multi-colored eggs are weird. I've also met people who thought that chocolate milk came from brown cows (okay, those people are mostly children) but it turns out that many people are even gullible about sheep.

Not My Idea: A Book About Whiteness

While this book is timely for Black History Month, it's one that should be on the bookshelf of every white home in America to be read at any time of year. Not My Idea: A Book About Whiteness tackles white supremacy in a way that kids can understand, and it demonstrates how we're all raised in a culture of racism, even programmed into it, without our consent.

Fungi Discovered Inside Chernobyl Reactors Survive and Thrive In High Radiation

I have always been interested in the possibility that life could be found beyond the Earth. Science has now found many planets around other suns. It appears that at least some of them may harbor life similar to life on Earth. Chemical building blocks for life have been found in gas nebula.
