Since I follow a lot of drink artists on TikTok I've been seeing so many great recipes for the upcoming Summer Solstice this week. From fruity teas made in the sun to mixed drinks (often featuring lemonade), there are way too many good ideas to try them all, but I'd certainly like to try!
In our house, we often like to add new life to old projects, whether they be ours or someone else's. We will either look at something we made or something we find thrift shopping and see something new we'd like, which leads to a new craft project!
While I love juices, smoothies and all kinds of blended protein drinks, I must say that I hate lugging out my blender and cleaning it. If I can get a juice on the go, I love to do so--especially if it's one with unique flavors and benefits! Seattle Juice Press has such a great variety that it's hard to not rely on it for a more frequent experience.
Throughout history, humans have known how much labor is involved in not only delivering an infant but how much exists afterward--especially during the years of baby and toddlerhood. That's why some countries offer support for new parents with services that help with chores or childcare while parents do anything from chores themselves to work or even sleep, because new parents often get very little.
If you're a bubble tea lover, you might want to know that not only are there kits to make your own bubble tea at home--I know, right?--but that Sticky Ballz is having a contest right now to win an entire at-home set, including multiple flavors, boba, stainless steel straws and ice cubes, and a tumbler! It's such a cool deal so be sure to visit their Instagram to check it out.
Sainsbury's and Pets at Home have issued a recall on Ford Hill's Ava pet food that they say is a precaution, but at lease one pet owner believes the food led to her kitten's death. The food may be involved in cats developing a bone marrow illness known as pancytopenia.
Cat owners can return the food to Sainsbury's and Pets at Home for a refund with or without a receipt. A total of 24 types of food are being recalled while the company investigates these claims.
The beautiful thing about a garden is that it's like a Pride flag all summer, especially if you have flowers and veggies of all different colors. I made sure to make a few boxes of rainbow colors this year and they look so pretty on the deck. But you can definitely do much more in terms of decorating for Pride.
As someone who has a bunch of Mary Oliver quotes in their office, I find it odd that I haven't really read many of her entire poems. I just picked up a copy of her book Devotion and am so glad I did. Everything is so gorgeous. I am so in love with her style and voice and I can't wait to just devour this book.
The Guardians of the Galaxy has one of the best soundtracks of any movie in existence, so it's no surprise that the game soundtrack is going to be excellent. But it goes even further than that: the songs will actually be utilized as a part of gameplay! During a battle, the team will huddle and Starlord will use songs as part of his speech, which should be a really fun bit of nostalgia for us 80s folks.
Everyone's birthday is a big deal around here, whether you're human or not. Our chickens get yummy mealworm treats on theirs, while the cats get some wet food and the dogs get bun-free hamburgers. I definitely know we're not the only people in the world to celebrate this way, but I was so excited to see an animal shelter celebrate one of their oldest residents' birthdays.
There's a photo of a product on Amazon going around right now that is of a... questionable nature. This product, known as the "Birthie Stick," mounts between a parent's legs as they give birth to their newborn. Oh, it gets worse.
Nintendo just released news about their latest Switch games and there were so many that it's hard to not have one to be excited about. Mario Party Superstars, which will be a throwback to the Nintendo 64 days, looks like the most exciting one to me, but honestly there are a bunch of them that I'd try.
Source Brewing has announced an exciting new Imperial IPA: the HELP>SLIP>HAZY, which is inspired by the Grateful Dead's Blues for Allah album. Unfortunately it's not the easiest brew to get your hands on, especially if you don't live in New Jersey. The simplest way to try it is to visit one of Source Brewing's taprooms.
